PET bottles are washed inside and out prior to filling. The bottles are washed and sterilized using electro- lyzed water. The first rinse uses electrolyzed water to sterilize the inside of the bottle. The second rinse flushes out the electrolyzed water using a specially prepared water solution that is chemical- ly equivalent to the final product. The ultra-clean Class 100 chamber prevents any chance of mold or other bacterial growth. Caps are sterilized three times prior to the capping process—via pulse steriliza- tion, washing with electrolyzed water, and finally rinsing. A monitoring camera checks that bottle caps are correctly positioned. Filled bottles are inspected for impurities by measuring the transparency. The hot air warms the bottles in readiness for labeling. After labeling, the bottles are subjected to a leak test by applying a 12-kg weight to each bottle. Printing of the best-before date on the bottle is carefully monitored. A monitoring camera checks the print quality of the best-before date. A laser printer marks each bottle with an internal tracking code. Boxes are weighed after packing to check for leaks. Products are held in storage for 48 hours prior to dispatch to check for mold growth and other potential quality defects. Product samples are selected hourly during production. These samples are stored at the factory for several months after shipment, and subject to quality testing at regular intervals.
